Default Re-programmed P28?

Going to build up my GSR for all motor/road racing application with the following specs:

Skunk2 IM
JDM ITR pistons
Portflow P/P with all portflow valvetrain
ITR cams
RC blueprinted injectors
4-1 header
AEM CAI
Exhaust
FPR
Cam gears

Now my question is this: Can I have two custom programs.. one for the track and one for the street and how can the car be tuned on a dyno with these programs...in other words, would i need a vafc? I would go with Hondata but trying to save some money right now. Thanks!

i would just save up and get a hondata... but AT the very LEAST you should get a vafc. i dynoed my car for an hour to get a decent map... but another hour and i'll definately squeeze some more out of it.

you can get the programs, but you'll have to change the ROM back and forth, no one has developed a switching system quite yet, but it appears that the 512 kb eeproms allow a 5v signal to be sent to them to tap into a different program, so you could have switch or a Potentiometer to send that 5v signal and switch programs.. this is currently being worked on, but until then i think you'll just have to change the chips.

agreed. Just get the Hondata man. Get 2 different chips and swap them out, one for street gas, one for race gas/track use.

Cant go wrong with Hondata. A lot of the programs out there like MUGEN, or Spoon on the p28 are absolutly horrible are ment for 2.0 race cars.

yes, it is well worth it. Chips are about $1.50 from radio shack, u just have to get a Hondata dealer to tune eachone individualy. Get street tuning for one chip which will be around 200 bucks and ull need about 2 hours for the race gas chip.
