Random Dodge Caravan question:
My mom's Dodge Caravan is acting up. Every time she fills up the tank, the gas pump cuts off like the tank is full. She has to let the pump trickle really slow to get it to stop cutting off.
I can't figure out where to start.
She does have that little flapper valve, and I told her to hold it open for a minute to relieve pressure, and it doesn't help. I'm thinking it has to be an Evap thing, but I don't really know.
I tried googling to no avail, so I thought I'd try here, lol.

I hate going on other forums.

sadly enough, I work on a TON of these things...I have two in the shop right now, lol !
what year is this van? mine are mostly 98-05 (taxi company) and I've never run into this "exact" issue...although I have had plenty of evap issues due to kinked, split or otherwise fu*ked up fuel filler hoses or overflow hoses...depending on the year of the van there should be two hoses at the filler neck, obviously the big one is the fill hose and the little one is the overflow hose, check to see if the fill hose is kinked in anyway, and also check to make sure there are no cracks/splits in the overflow hose, because I have seen that lead to problems w/ refueling, I had a similar issue on a 98, it had a cracked/split overflow hose and it was somehow allowing fuel vapors up to the filler neck and causing the pump to shut off, of course the dingbat driver kept clicking away at the pump until it was "topped off"...spilled gas EVERYWHERE...didn't notice (hence the dingbat term) he was literally chased into the shop by two cops and a fire fighter...made me take the van out of service until it was inspected by the local fire cheif...anyway sorry for the long post, check those things first and if that doesn't get you anywhere, you can email me at joe@ondemandperformance.com and I'll continue to try to help with the "caravan tec" I check my mail twice a day so I'll get back to you with something pretty quickly

Thanks man, I'm starting to think that's what it's related to.
If you slowly trickle the fuel it's fine, so that makes sense. The kinked hose lets small amounts by fine, but not large amounts.
