Default Quick Question About Rings

Hey guys

I just disassembeld the bottom end (block) and i noticed that the rings on all of the pistons have a T Which im asuming it means T facing up toward the dome of the piston, Not facing where the connecting rod is. The block was built in some local shop and im curious why they put the rings on backwards unless it was an error that they had made. I just want your opinions because if this was an error i need to go and get my money back and get it built somewhere else.

99.9% of the time any writing or markings like a dot will indicate the top of the ring.
