Default Ran Master Cylidner Dry?

I'm in the process of replacing rotors/calipers/lines right now. and I was always keeping on top of keeping the MC filled up while working cause you just cant' help spill some when you remove the lines. Anyways I got the last line installed then didn't work on it for 2 days. I check the fluid before finishing up and it was full. I come back 2 days alter and see it's empty!!! The fluid was about 1/4" below the MIN line. so I've just filled it back up full now. I found out one of the calipers bleeder was compeltely lose(stupid me) I'm jsut wodnering when you guys say don't run it DRY. are we talknig about WAY below the resrvoir or what. cause It was still in there a bit. tehre's this tueb or somethnig sticking up. I'm guessing that's wehre it takes in the fluid and it stopped draining through the caliper when it went below that... But I'm wondering did this wreck my MC at all? Or will it be okay to bleed it after it's all done. Don't feel like replacing my MC or bench bleeding it if I don't have to...

If it was simply a bit below the 'min' line, it's probably OK. But if it actually sucked air down into the MC then you will have a little trouble working the air out. Bench bleeding helps work the air out, but I've done this without bench-bleeding it. You just have to bleed lots of fluid thru, by pumping the pedal.
