hey i got a 95 GSR that i need to replacec the radiator support on, its alreayd been removed i needd to weld on a new one that came with the car, is there anythig i should look out for ? i've done a search and the only thing i see from people is " bring it to a shop" well shiht i can weld soo im gonna weld it on msyelf instead of paying someone to do it. give me some tips (* installing tips not " you shoudl go to a shop tips) thanks guys
Did you remove the original rad support? If you did, then you probably drilled out the old spot welds. Well, when putting your new rad support in, drill some holes into it where the old spot welds used to be. So, when you weld the new support on, just fill in the holes.
Also, it's a good idea to get some vice grips to hold the rad support in place while welding.
Also, make sure that your measurements are correct. (ie. make sure that the front end is square, and not crooked).
You should also use "weld-thru primer" to prevent rust when welding.
