Don't know what they use today, but back in the old days it was basically a rubber coating.
Friend at work sprayed them planes for years, now he's all fucked up.

cool.
would it prevent laser radar tickets though?
also I remember the article about maaybe the Gumball rally? or a modern day Smokey and the Bandut race where a Porsche crew had their 911 turbo of some sort sprayed with Russian/Soviert military paint, yes radar-evading paint. it was outrageously expensive but per the article, yes it worked absolutely.

It may work, but radar works like light; it reflects off of things and bounces back to the gun, where it figures out how fast you were going.
These paints work by absorbing the radar instead of reflecting it. Your car will probably look hideous afterwards, and your headlights and taillights are still vulnerable points of your car.
From the officers I have talked to, they say that they aim for the lights b/c they have reflectors inside of them, giving them the best chance of getting a readout on you.
IMO, just get a black car that is sleek and flat, like the 300zx, if you're a heav y speeder.

So if you paint the inner housing of your headlights black then you may be ok.

or you may be dead when you have no headlights at night.
You HAVE to have the reflectors actually reflect light to have your headlights work....

Ive heard from the local cops that they shoot it off of the license plates as well...good flat reflective surface. And spraying the inside of your lights will result in NO lighting at night as stated above.
Yeah, in the army we painted our Howitzer with it. It sucks. The stuff we used was flat and chipped very easily.
Don't be such a tool, that's the dumbest idea ever.
Cheers,
Roy

It comes in dark colours such as black, dark blue, darker green, maroon. There's also a coating that can be applied to your license plates that deflects radar and/or distorts it. These applications are primarily used on the military market, but can be obtained for a pretty hefty price for civilian use. If you're just trying to avoid getting a ticket, it's probably cheaper just buying a descent radar detector or applying some deflective material around your license plate, because that is the point of reference that most cops aim at when trying to get your speed.
