ractive twin loop muffler: A tale
I've always been curious about the twin loop mufflers and after years of debate and research, I decided to buy the one made by ractive for the gen1 CR-V (model MTP-333).
The next step was to do some research on where to buy the muffler. I don't usually go for the place I find it the cheapest, but this time I did, and I greatly regret it!
I found the muffler for $199 + $20 shipping which, in my opinion, is a decent deal for this product. I ordered it, and on the websites checkout there was a check box to pay via paypal. So I attempted to pay via paypal, and immediately got an order confirmation from the site without me even paying (weird). I then went to paypal and attempted to pay for the product. Payment was not allowed because my school address is not verified. So I went back to the website to just pay for the muffler with my credit card, and did so, got another order confirmation (which I didn't look at closely until the next day).
The next day I double check the order confirmation, and it said that I ordered a prelude muffler (even though I ordered a CR-V muffler)!?!?! So I go to the site and send an e-mail with no response. Later in the day I call both numbers that were available without an answering machine, nor someone to pick up. Now I'm getting frustrated!! So I consider contacting better business bureau. But before that, I decide I'm going to call with my roommates cell (which is a different area code than mine). I do so, and after 2 rings someone picks up. I tell them the situation and they say that I'm lucky I called because the product is still in their "shipping department". I told them that I tried calling several times and sent them several e-mails they said they were having phone problems (without apologies). GRRR to them screening my calls! So, within the next few days I get a UPS shipping confirmation, and now just recieved the product which I'm VERY happy with!
