Default Racing seat question

So my Dailey driver (which is a Chevy) has really beat up seats. I was considering seat covers but I can't find good ones that are cheap. Then I though re apholstry but the closest place to me is far. So I thought hey, why not just get some plain looking black racing seats. My question is this - they all say that the mounting bracket is not included. So does that mean that the seats you would get are universal and you have to get the specific bracket for your car? Or if the seats are listed as fitting your car, they will attach in place of the current seats? I'm confused. Thanks

I have a Honda. Is it not cool to ask questions about other cars? Just thought someone may know. That's why I chose the tech misc section.

You will need mounting brackets and sliders. The mounting brackets are car specific but the sliders are more seat specific.

Hence, you go to a Chevy forum for Chevy specific questions. YOu don't go to a podiatrist when you need a brain surgeon.

Try the sliders on what? He hasn't even got the seats. It's all "what if?" at this point.

To clarify-I'm saying to buy the seats and if they don't fit - use the sliders and brackets off of the factory seats

And you know that will work, how?
Let's put this in perspective.
Dude can't afford decent seat COVERS but he can afford whole seats and all the crappy universal hardware that goes with them?
This begs the question of what piece of **** seats is this guy considering buying and from whom?
Then the question to ask is, why does dude not contact the company SELLING the seats to ask his questions?

Hey Grumblemarc I get you have the right to not like what the dude is asking but then don't answer.I can give two ***** but you are the only person in here bothered by what he is asking so don't sweat it and he will get his answer from someone else.I know this is a honda specific site but people used to be able to come on here and ask all sorts of stuff plus there are worse things to complain about on this site nowadays.

Public forum. Please don't tell me when I can or cannot answer.
Dude's question could have been answered by whatever unknown vendor he plans on getting these cheap *** seats from. All you people offering advice without any details from the OP are ridiculous.

Are they universal, he asks? How do we know?
Are they vehicle specific, he asks? How do we know?
What seats?.
What hardware?
Bought from where?
He's confused? No kidding. He didn't do any legwork.

You people are all just assuming. To get tech information you need to at least ask a technical question.

I agree with you and what I was trying to say was if you feel this question or questions are too stupid for you to want to answer then by all means don't waste your time.I read your response and it came off like you came in here in a bad mood and I am in no way trying to start anything thats just how you came off.

I'm not trying to start anything either. Just take the message as it is and let's not ascribe any more emotion to it shall we?
