Default quick question w/ pic. dowel location

just wanted to double check i have the dowel pins in the right place. exhaust side right?

correct. they could really be put anywhere, as they are just for alignment. clean block tho

can you do 4 corner holes? that would make the most sense, right?

Sure, it could be done, but I think there are only 2 holes that dowel pins can fit in....may be different with some blocks, but the other two would have to be enlarged for the others.

Take a b20-vtec for instance. The b20 I believe is on the exhaust side, and the b16 Head is on the intake side. or visa versa... all I know is that they are on different sides.

would using 4 dowels do any good? dowels are cheap from honda right?

Just get head studs....instant alignment.....thats all dowels are for. technically you could build a motor without them.

the head can still move a lil bit on the studs. dowels can only help, right?

This would not work. There are properly sized holes on The exaust side for vtec heads and the intake side for non vtec head. You can not use 4 dowels on the head. There is no purpose for that anyway.
