Default Quick question please help...

I have a '88' crx si and the check engine light is on. How do I turn it off or reset it?? The car runs fine I just can't have it on for emissions testing, they turned me down at the station..

Thanks in advance

Pull the battery or ECU fuse for 10 seconds.

That will reset, if the Check light comes back on you have a problem.

i'd say for at least 2-3 mins as there may be a slow discharge on the power to the ECU

quickest way---disconnect + battery terminal and make suer radio code is handy if applicable

2-3 is a false. It's non-volital memory and should clear as soon as power is disconnected.

The 10 second count is more than enough.

Spade who has cleared ECU's hundreds of times and never had one maintain it's memory after 10 seconds.
