Don't think so since coil over springs are flat and stock has small pig tail. Coil over springs tend to be short so you can drop the car on adjustable spring perch. So don't do it unless it was made for the car. Have a good day, hope you find some good lowering springs!
Really.. It's 2011... the world almost came to an end on May 21.... and money is an issue for finding lowering springs for a 20+ year old car? Dude.. seriously.. if you have a kid on the way.. get your priorities in order... Projects take a backseat.. little one and momma comes first... that's how you get them on board later on to help you. Anyways, let me give you some idea's. First of all.. what size rims you running? And what's your skill set? Can you do an axle swap.. or your just a Air Filter and Sticker kind of guy? If you are running 13's or 15's and you just want to kill that factory space between the tires.. then yes you can cut the springs.. no more than two coils! If you are running 17's or 18's.. then switch to 15's to run street races.. then you would want the flexability to raise and lower the car.. coil overs are the way to go! The coil springs alone will not work.. as they are a different spring rating and height compared to the factory stuff.. you will need the perch's that they sit on.. you can use the factory shocks though. Hopes this helps.. and congrats on baby! Atleast someone is more productive on this forum.. lol
