quick info needed on TEMPERATURE SENSOR for 96 GS-R
As the title states....my temperature is off and I need to know where the temperature sensors and how much they cost and where to get them for a good price. Thanks
What's actually wrong? Do you think the gauge is wrong? Or do you think the thermostat is allowing the true temperature to be wrong?
On the thermostat housing is the fan switch. It's got a 2-wire plug & it switches the radiator fan.
On the head near the upper radiator hose are 2 more temperature sensors. One has a 2-wire plug, that's for the ECU. The smaller one with 1 wire is the sender for the temperature gauge in the cluster.
These 3 different sensors don't 'share' information with each other...

Here is the full story....
Temperature hasnt been even close to the center of the temperature gauge.
Radiator fluid was empty and refilled radiator...it is leaking now.
I will take a look at things more closely this weekend. I have the HELMs manual and I suppose I will test to see if the thermometer or the sensor is a problem. I also need to patch up the radiator for now.
Give me any advice...what I should test first or any tips? TIA
