quick engine temp gauge question...
my car's idling is acting wierd due to vacuum leak...i hope that's the only problem, so my idling is between 1000rpm to 1500rpm.
so my question is...if my idling is usually 1000rpm to 1500rpm with the A/C ON and i'm stuck in traffic most of the way for about an hour or so, is it normal for my temp gauge to jump to 3/4 up? but when traffic clears abit for me to reach like 50 KPH the temp will go back to normal?
i had this problem last weekend n it turns out the radiator fan is not turning ON but now i'm pretty sure it's turning ON but the temp gauge always goes up during long traffic but not during light to moderate traffic while idling between 1000rpm to 1500rpm.
any info will be appreciated.

Sounds like you may need to top off your radiator fluid, or bleed the system. Happens to me sometimes when my coolant level drops a little bit. Could explain your idle issue too.
What engine do you have in that?

it's a b16 converted with obd1 using uberdata 1.70 and boosting 7psi.
the first time this happened, we were street tuning. the tuning session went smoothly until it started running lean and the engine would stall after a hi speed run and then we noticed the temp gauge rises up very high and it turns out to be the radiator fan motor wasn't turning ON but eventually start working after a couple of minutes but we just shorted the plug to keep the fan turn ON permanently that night.
i understand that ECT sensor will also contribute to the cooling system aside from thermostat, how would i know if which is my problem, i.e. ECT sensor, thermostat, and etc.?
