no every engine should have a stamp/casting number or call number r-dot or not r-dots may not be in the usual place. if there is no stamp you can bet it is probably stolen or was stolen!

The r-dot block we had there was no stamp. In the place where the stamp should be it was in no way modified.( had the texured look like factory, and still had he raised part where flat part sat higher than the block) I will try to find a pic. Has anyone who is saying there is always a stamp bought a replacement block from the dealer.? I haven't, so im curious, because if this block we had was stolen and had the #'s removed this would have been the best job ever...
trying to locate pic

edit: I in no way condone or support the use of stolen parts. the block we had, we were told it was a replacment block from the dealer. it was almost brand new when we got it.

Bringing this back from the dead, it's the only piece of info I can find via google about odd honda block stamps.

The one in question is a supposed JDM 1.5L SOHC motor currently posted in the 92-00 section.

The block stamp has C V and a serial.

See for yourself and if you have any ideas, please bring them forward:

And yes I know, a SEVEN YEAR OLD THREAD, I know. Like I said, this is the ONLY bit of info about legit oddball stamps. The only other finds were grind off stolen blocks.

The only thing I can find is there is a Honda Plant in Mexico the comes up in google with "C V", so I'm not sure if this is a direct replacement block produced in the Mexico plant so Stamped the Plant Location and a Serial number.... What do you all think?
