Default Questions about: p30 and knock sensor...

I am going to be running a CRVtec, with a p30 ecu. On my b20 block, I have no knock sensor, there is a port for one. Will I need the knock sensor? or does the p30 not have a knock sensor?

If the ECU is not chipped, it will look for a knock sensor. You need to either add one in or get the ECU chipped so it won't look for it. A p30 ecu won't provide enough fuel for the B20 anyway, so I would get it remapped or upgrade to hondata.

ya I know that my fuel will be running lean, but this is for now. If worse comes to worse, I might have a p13 I can use... lol

Talk to PHiZ, he'll chip your ecu for a good price, and he's a sexy man-beast to boot

d16y7 doesn't have a knock sensor, only DOHC vtec engines do.

what is VTEC X-over on the p30? isn't it 5500? I know the fuel maps are too low for a CRVtec, but that will be changed later.

1-a p30 has KS on it so use it...2-96-00 civic EX has KS on them and yes you can use the ks from it or if your harness is different you can use the 94-95 KS.
