Default Question for you tech gurus.....

I've got a 4th gen lude with 150k on it and an AEM shortram. I did a really got tune up and its been really well taken care of (previous owner was a pastor). Anyways ive got more than half of the $$ to do the h22 swap later. It burns oil , about 1qtr. every 1000 miles, and ive been told that it blows out white smoke, not a lot though. Im going to run it till it blows up then its h22 time . My question is would putting a straight through universal muffler make it smoke more?? I dont want to get a full exhaust because i want to save up for the swap. Will i get any performance gains with just the muffler, because ive noticed that the prelude piping isnt that small, or is it just for the looks and sound. Oh yeah, another question do you think that changing the oxygen sensor would get rid of the smoking, although i put a new cat on it about 2 months ago and that seemed to help ALOT with the smoking. Thanks in advance and thanks for reading this long *** question.. Peace

IMO the muffler will provide some power gains over your stock muffler because of the straight-thru design. Regarding the oxygen sensor, if you are burning oil I don't think it is because of the O2 sensor. So replacing it might be a waste of $$$.
