Default QUESTION: transmission

Ok lets see, my car runs good and strong runs fine, but when the car is in idle it you hear a sound like rubbing and a slight grinding, when u push the clutch in it goes away, i am thinking its the throw out bearing some one told me that the tranny needs rebuilt, which is bad for me i am low on money, the car just started grinding in 5th gear, its fine and quiet like i said when i push the clutch in, and when i take off in first i hear rubbing and stuff when i get into like 2nd and 3rd it goes away, could it be low on fluid? or whats some options. please help

sounds like one or both of the mainshaft bearings is going out. I would highly sugest replacing the trans or rebuilding the original before the bearing blows up and takes out some gears
