this is a question for those who KNOW about 4ws
lets say i have a honda that does not have 4ws - in fact it doesn't even have power steering. i want to put 4ws from a prelude into this car. the whole thing is going to have to be custom, but i have a 4ws prelude that has a blown motor that i am stripping down, especially for the 4ws. is it possible to put the 4ws on a manual steering car? or do i need to have power steering? does anyone know what i would have to do to put this on a manual steering car?
oh, and please don't ask what it is going into cause if i tell you, everyone will only tell me it can't be done, but i am going to get it to work. i was just curious about getting the steering box to fit on a manual steering car, or if i needed to do more than that.
or, would it be easier to put a power steering rack assembly into the manual steering car and go from there? i know they make one, but i just have to find someone who carries it, other than the dealership, unless i want to pay more than the car.
anyway, thanks for the help in advance guys.

The 88-91 4ws system was mechanical
92-95 was electronic and had its own separate computer.
You would have to find a way to make everything fit.
It wont be easy, but hey NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE, just mathematically improbable
GOOD LUCK!!

4ws sucks. Why would you want it? If it was so great, why doesn't Honda use it anymore? Why dont racecars have it? Why do they sell new rear LCAs for 300zs to eliminate the 4ws? Its only good for firetrucks and ****.

it would be the manual 4ws - it is from an 88 prelude. i know i can manipulate the suspension parts and connection parts to fit, i was really just conserned about the steering box connection. i haven't looked at the set-up yet so i don't know how it attaches to the steering. i just know my car does not have power steering and all the 4ws preludes have it.
and as for the 4ws sucking, it is all a matter of opinion. some people like it, some don't. and from experience there is a huge difference in the 4ws models handling ability compared to the non-4ws 3rd gen preludes. i have driven both and raced both and notice a large difference.
oh, and one more thing - just because you don't like something doesn't mean it sucks. so f*ck you.
