question on rear brake usage
everyone says 80% of the braking is done by the front brakes...heres my question:
are the rear brakes used 80% LESS than the fronts or are the rear brakes used 20% overall?
does that make sense?
another way of wording it: if you push the brake pedal very lightly, are the rear brakes not used at all (20% overal usage)? or are they used all the time, but to a minimal degree (80% less than the fronts)?
hopefully someone understands what im saying
thanks

They are always used.......the weight transfer of the vehicle slowing down is what causes the fronts to be used more and needed more of.........if the backs are too strong they will lock up and the fronts still won't be at there max.
