Are you using a stock cat or a high flow cat?

how the F are you getting backpressure, mush less Tons OF It when your exhaust size is constantly growing as you move farther from the block?

I dont understand?

sounds like you have more problems than meet the eye,
hows your PCV system, you may have a bad check valve.
whens the last time you cleaned the upper engine?
changed the oil?
if you are getting tons of backpressure, do you really know?
have you metered the air leaving the exhaust?
do you have a loss in power?

tuning the exhaust has more to do with maintaining air
speed velocity than it does with changing pipe diameter...
unless your motor is cammed to this exhaust I dont see
it being ideal.

hows your afr?

How old is your cat? It could be clogged.

Your cat could be seriously fucked up but then you'd most likely be smelling
a gas and burning sulfur smell from the cat.
If you think you are burning oil, find out of you actually are.... just keep checking your levels. Your sig said you had 9.1 compression + a turbo, you may want to
calculate out your final compression, you may be getting too much blow by

"and there goes my light bulb"... so it is actually my cat/ it could be my piping as well. getting gas smell from the chassis. i gotta change those gaskets. thanx for that quick info speed_ricer.

quick question. can someone define a blow-by. i kinda have it understood as something realted to back pressure. thanx techies.

alright. i have 9:1 compression but i dont have my kit on yet. its never been on. my sig says minus turbo kit..lol. but anyways...

i am burning oil. i just put a quart in today. my headgasket is blown. its leaking oil. not alot just a very little bit, but im not overheating. checked my radiator and no bubbles.

i drove my car around today, when i shifted up to 3th to 4th my car made this poping sound. not like backfire(gunshot) sound, but a popping sound, very noticable since my exhaust is so loud. white smoke is comming out of my exhaust.

i also am bogging down when im comming out of first. i have 310rc injectors. no FPR(should be getting one on payday) just a fields to try to lean the fuel out. right now i have it set at 0 across the board.

also can you have blow by on NA motors??? if so what is blow by.

wow...

blow-by gasses are what is left of the combustion mixture after it is burnt,
as well as oil coming up through the rings during a compression stroke.
when your rings are past service limit, which is when you smoke all the
time... not just under VTEC these gases seep past the rings into the oil
as well as the oil passing through the rings into the cylinders.

It was explained to me that our engines are prone to a condition called
"ring flutter" when at high piston speeds, the rings move in thier seats
causing some blow by gasses that contain oil to pass through the rings
into the chamber and burn oil. ALL HONDA VTEC ENGINES BURN OIL
WHEN DRIVEN HARD!@!

How hard are you pushing your motor?

alot of people like to brag about how well they maintain thier oil... oh
I dont lose a drop yadayadayada... bulldonkey. Honda installed the
PCV system to re-burn blow by gasses so they dont pass out into
the atmosphere. when we add compression and power on top of our
stock rings and rev the bung dookey out of them... you are going to
lose oil. it is good to try and reduce this as much as possible or
replace the rings if necessary... but it can also be a bad valve stem
seal as well.

if you shift too high and the engine spins up real fast, sometimes you can
mildly bend a valve. not to where you lose total compression in that cyl,
but it can lose oil into the CYL there too...

its best to have your engine leaked down by a tech who can pressurize
the cylinders and meter them. this is an EXACT science and can narrow
it down to a valve seal or a scuffed sleeve or anything that can cause
blow by or high oil comsumption. a compression test is too much of
a blanket solution and too many parts used at the same time to
create an honest to goodness test of your internal sealing.
