I was talking with one of my buddys and he was telling me about an issue he has been seeing alot of. He was saying that walbro pumps stop picking up after half a tank to a quarter of a tank. Something about the filter(sock) being to small. Anyone have this issue or hear of this?

 

i've never heard anything of that sort. my walbro has always worked even when i had maybe a gallon of gas left.

 

No problems with mine but yes Ive heard that a couple people had that problem. Their car would act as if their was no fuel left when it got under a quarter in the tank.

 

Ran 255's sucessfully for a long time in multiple cars without a hitch. Have always been able to drive down to the last fume...if I had too.

 

I just did a 255 in my 88 CRX with a new fuel tank. I made sure to use the metal ring that fits around the fuel pump sock adaptor. I put in 2 gallons of gas and it fired up, no issues.

 

I have a friend and his ef did this under 1/4 tank if parked wrong. Other then him I've never heard of it. I do know sometimes they just quit working for no damn reason. My car does it every now and again.
