Default Question About Removing Zex.....

I just picked up a 93 Del Sol S that is equipped with a Zex nitrous system with the purple box and such, the car also has an aem fuel rail. Is removal of this system a simple task? I mean Ive done suspension mods and basic keep up of cars before....Should this be a problem?

Default Re: Question About Removing Zex..... (SpugenEG)

Easily done

Remove bottle and 4 bolts holding down bottle brackets

Disconnect main nitrous line form the purple box and pull it out completely

Disconnect the nitrous feed line and unscrew the nitrous tap thats drilled into your intake

Then theres 3 wires coming off of the box, red one goes to the back of your throttle body (to middle tps wire), and theres a power and a ground remove those as well (white/black)

The vacuum lines (2 off them) there will be 2 of them coming off of the purple box, follow where the both go on the engine and remember the spot for 10 seconds, pull off both lines completely (from both engine and zex purple box) and take one of the lines you just pulled off and connect it back to the 2 engine places that you just pulled them off of, this puts it back to stock and you should have any more connected lines to the purple box

Unscrew the 2/4 screws that the purple box are mounted with and youre all done

Maybe a 30-1hour job depending on how things were run and installed and how nicely you want to clean them up
