Question about oil pressure reading.
I just installed an autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge and I wanted to know what my PSI should be. it is a 1.6 SOHC VTEC.
When the car is started it read around 70-80PSI and then drops when it gets warmer.
Here is the prob. When I step on the gas or rev the engine the gauge jumps all the way to the 100PSi area.
Is something wrong. Cound my line be too long or bad oil pump, or what?
Thanks for any info.

Does it level off after going to 100psi? It might just be spiking.
If that's the case, you should loop the oil pressure gauge feed line so that pressure bleeds off a little before hitting the gauge.
If there was something wrong with the pump, it would have to be the relief valve and/or spring.
