Default Question about exhausts and resonators

I am going to be getting a custom exhaust made in a couple of weeks by a buddy of mine. I told him I wanted a resonator for it and he said "Sure, I'll throw a glasspack on there for you". Then I asked him if glasspacks are the same thing as resonators, and he said "Yup"

Is this true? I'm getting the exhaust for free so I can't be too picky.

A glasspack is a resonator, but it does not have a straight through design. There are louvers that will impede the exhaust flow.

There are different designs and some do inhibit flow but others dont...if I can find the link that has pics I'll post it...

Ive had glass packs, and would not recommend them, they dont quiet the car as well as resonators, and they are heavier. Ive also heard the stuff inside will deteriorate over time... they are just cheap thats all. If your buddy doesnt have resonators, just go buy some online and give it to him. It may cost a bit more, but do it right the first time, thats the best advice I can give you...
