does a resonator reduce exhaust flow?
ive heard mixed opinions on this issue. i want to put a resonator on to quiet down the exhaust tone. its too darn loud. if i put one on, how restrictive will it be? i dont want to hinder performance, since my turbo runs alot better with better exhaust flow. will it make a difference?

actually a perforated resonator does inhibit the velocity of the exhaust, but the impact is negligible by most accounts to be generalized as non-existent. a louvered resonator impacts the flow even more.

holes = good. baffles/chambers = no good

Doesn't Tanabe exhaust use louvered resonators? If so I wonder why if I heard they hinder performance.

all performance minded mufflers that claim to be a straight through design use perforated cores, unless it is mentioned otherwise. (i sound like a damn advert!)
a resonator is a muffler, and some (like me) use resonators as the primary mufflers.

resonators are a great way to quiet you exhaust down and not hinder you performance much
parksl, auto zone, advance auto parts and any other large chain auto parts store should carry them readily
i personally use two resonators because i do not like obnoxiously loud exhausts

i dont either. cant hear the turbo spooling.
