Default Question about Apexi timer....

i have a N/A 98 gsr mildly moded. i do have a fpr, bigger fuel rail, & guage attached to fuel filter. i plan to keep it all motor. basically, i want to know my a/f ratio w/ out getting a guage that doesn't really give a true reading because it's always fluctuating. i want to know if this would be a good investment. and how does the O2 function work? thanks...

are you talking about a VAFC? i would highly recomend it and a dyno tune. that would help out a lot. on lude they give about 9WHP peak and about 25WHP mid-range

no, i'm talking about the Apexi N/A or Turbo timmer. it has 4 functions: A/F, O2, batterey, & engine timer. it's pretty small, unlike a VAFC.

The gauge is only as good as the oxygen sensor.

It'll tell you the oxygen sensor voltage and approximate AFR, but those numbers are only valid when the oxygen sensor is at nominal operating temp and WOT. Even then, the numbers won't be accurate.

The only thing it'll be useful for is telling you whether the engine is leaning out at WOT.
