Default Quaife Problem: Installation/Fitment

i pressed the ball-bearings fully onto the diff (as says the Helm), but when i put the diff into the case (98-01 JDM ITR) now, it sits so low that the ring gear hits the case. the diff is in completely and straight (as are the bearings). am i missing a shim? the ring gear is on properly, all bolts are torqued to spec. i am using the Helm, but it calls for no shim on the clutch housing side, in which the diff is installed. any ideas?

If it is all put together correctly and the ring gear is rubbing the casing then you will need shims/spacers.
