Default Q for VAFC users

the map sensor tripped a code tonight. im wonsering if turniing fuel up too much on th VAFC can cause this.

Yes it can. From what I've read if your fuel correction is about + or - 10% the cel will come on.

12-14 percent "+" according to Apexi will possibly trigger an mil on some cars (map sensor voltage to low/high, i forget), i've experienced issue where they are particularly sensitive to 11-14, rpm zone dependent.
