Default Q about distributor...

Story in short; going 130mph, car dies & all lights come on without thinking I try'd restarting it by key with no luck, I then attempted a breif compression start again no luck so I pull over, open the hood to find the #1 spark plug wire came off the distributor, I then test for spark and get none, I then towed her home and bought a new dist. it was an obd2 dist. which I converted to obd1, tossed it on and she fired right up. It runs, idles, and drives fine, however the car does feel a little slugish compared to before, Ive adjusted the dist + & - with no differ in performance, mainly the vtec and anthing above 5krpm isnt as loud and as strong as it was previously & it deffinately sounds muffled like its running in safe mode .. thanks in advance for any and all help.

so if your timing is @ 13* and you are feeling slugish this might have something to do with it, set to 18* and run 91 or higher octane

Alright. I got the timing at BTDC?, mark in between. I previously had it set at TDC, the single white mark, and the gun read 13degrees. Well I started all over, and the gun read 0 degrees and I adjusted the dist until i got it to BTDC again the mark in the middle, however the dist is almost all the way advanced... dont know what next to do...

Perhaps your intake cam somehow got a tooth off?
Sometimes they will still run with the tooth off, but just feel weak and sound funny.
This might be why you can get the proper ignition timing?
Or maybe the timing light is off? Try a second one to double check. Ive heard they are sensitive.
