Purchasing GSR block, dissassembled girdle????!?!?!
Sup,
I'm purchasing a GSR block. My buddy was telling me if the girdle has been dissassembled it is nearly impossible to put it on the right way into OEM Specs. My buddy told me if the girdle is dissassembled, im better off not using a girdle, because if it is put on wrong then it will mess something up. Well the block im about to purchase is dissassembled, and the girdle is also. The seller said you MUST remove the girdle in order to remove the crank shaft. Sorry for the stupid question but someone must help. Thanks

THE girdle covers the caps, which have to come off to take out crank
doesnt sound like your boy knows what the hell he is talking about
it goes block then crank then caps, then girlde then oil tray, then pick up then oil pan
all these things have to come off to get crank out

There are dowel pins that locate it, taking it out is not a big deal. It will go back in where it was just fine, your friend is talking out his ***.
