Proper Drive Cycle?
Hello all, Gio here. Having some trouble with the ecu monitors in my 98 hatch. I live in california and was recently sent to the state referee for a non-carb legal header. So i put my old header back on my y7 and they told me that reusing a catalytic converter is illegal and i had to buy a new one. Cost me 450 bones at autozone but it worked, the test passed... up until the ecu monitors review. Apparently none of my monitors were ready because i had disconected my battery the previous night due to a suspicious ef driving around. So i drove it ariund and followed the proper drive cycle paperwork that the ref gave me and had an appt the very next mornjng. Its a 45 minute drive on the highway to the ref so i figured the monitors would be ready.. got there and only 2 were. My oxygen sensor monitor and evap systems monitor werent on along with one more i forgot.. so now im stumped. Do i keep driving? Do i follow the drive cycle more? Anyone know a quick fix for this? Need my car back on the road! Thanks all!!
O2 and EVAP require two drive cycles of speeds over 45? MPH. Run until they pass. If you have any question if they have passed or not, an Autozone scan tool will report readiness status.
