Default professional installation

i was just wondering how much it would cost to get your an engine installed at a dealership or a highly recommended auto shop

i always thought it would be around a thousand or so but i saw some where on an rx7 forum that professional installation can cost up to $35,000 and that seems a bit nuts to me but yea just curious

$35K, that's ridiculous, you can buy a brand new car for that. Even if a dealer charged 100/hour, it wouldn't take 350 hours to do it.

depends on what car and what exactly needs to be swapped in, a long block, short block..etc..

if your talking about a hybrid conversion thats a total different ball game in price..

for a straight long block swap on a lets say 2000 civic we'll charge like 12-18 hrs labor @ $82.00/hour depending on if it needs seals has a/c.. etc etc

swaping in a short block will cost more in labor etc..

a dealership wont install a different engine in your car unless its the same engine that came in that car from the factory...your best best is local performance shops
