Default Probs In LS/VTEC land!!!

ok, so i'm new at this...everyone has to start some where yaknow?

ok...here's the deal. The motor is together, it seems to be ok, no bad noises or anything. It's in the car, but runs not so well. It's got the stock ecu, but when i got it, it must have been tampered with....there's no redline *(i found this out when i barried the tach past 8500rpms today!)*, and it runs REALLY rich and idles really funny.

What i've been told is that u have to purchase a P28 ecu and have it chipped accordingly.. . . if anyone can help me find an ecu and what needs to be done to chip it, i'd be greatly appriciative!!! Thanks in advance for the help!

first of all what manifold are you running with the setup?
Single stage or dual stage butterfly's??

What ECU is currently on the car? (P72,PR3)

If the ECU is tampered with already, you might as well have a chipped ECU already. All the aftermarket programs run rich. You can pop the screws out of the ecu and look to see if someone soldered a jumper and attached the chip.

GSR manifold with the p72 head....nothing fancy. The secondary butterfly's are in there, but there hooked up to just manifold vac..

The ecu in the car now is the stock p75 that i think has been chipped....there's no rev limit and it's rich as heck.

I just talked to sgt and he's goin to hook me up with a chipped p28 which i hope will solve some of my probs.
