Problems with spon ECU!!!!!
Im getting a second gen B16A with a spoon ecu, the ecu lets my car rev to 9000rpm. My question is what do I need to make sure that when I rev up to 9000rpm I dont blow my engine, Im going to get Skunk2 racing valve springs and titanium retainers but is there anything else I need to make sure I wont have any problems when Im up at 9000rpm... like new connecting rods etc...??

you need CAMS!
your not gonna make any damn power past 8000 rpm so its COMPLETLEY pointless to have a 9k rev limit unless you get some agressive cams to match.
i would get ITR/CTR or JUN

unless you're getting the ecu for good price stick with JDM P30 or (obdI) PR3 ecu, they are much better then spoon for mostly stock motors, no worries of blown motor and perfectly matches the stock cams
from the dynos I have done of few orignal Spoon ECUs vs JDM P30 the figures were only 1-2whp more in the top end but losses in other areas were greater

Wow, in that case Ill just stick to the stock ecu, I would have bought all the retainers and valve springs for nothing!!! Im glad you posted now the money I would have spent strengthening the engine can go to other things I want, besides I think that the 7800rpm red line in the SiR2 motor should be just fine and I wont have to worry about blowing the motor!!!!
