problems repainting valve cover
so I decided to take off and repaint my valve cover. stripped the paint down to the metal with the aircraft remover, works good. sanded a lil. when I go to paint it using engine enamel 500 degrees heat resistant, the paint won't stick in some areas. leaving some dots and stuff. I'm pretty sure I wiped it off clean using soap. dunno what the problem is. its kinda cold in my garage so that might be the problem? any ideas?
yes being cold will cause that and if the surface is too slippery it will also cause that, it needs to be a little rough, maybe try a primer first
Make sure that it is free of oils and grease too. Did you wipe it down with a clean rag / acetone or alcohol? Make sure your hands are clean too when you handle it after cleaning it.
The little bubbles are probably fisheyes.
Do better prep work.
Ie wash after stripped with soap and water and the allow to dry and then wipe down with a cleaner ( acetone or alcohol or grease and wax remover.)
