Default Problems breaking in new motor!

I have just rebuilt my LS motor and replaced everything in it! New rings, gaskets, seals, pistons, cams, and more! Anyway I have about 200miles on the motor right now and I still have some oil leaking into the combustion chamber from either the rings or the valveseals and I am wondering why! Shouldn't they have sealed by now? Am I using the wrong oil(Valvoline 10W-30)?

I dont know what the problem is but I still have oil coming out of my exhaust(Cat was removed) and some on the spark plugs!

change the oil and start fresh....if you are doing the progressive break in it might take a while. I have always done it the opposite approach by rhomping on it after it gets warmed up

if you feel like doing it, put some new rings on, give it a quick hone, and do the "hard break-in" method

thats the way i breakthem in,, remember what forces the rings out into the cyl walls, compression so if you let the motor warm up the take a few hard passes on it to seat those rings wile those crosshatching on the cyl walls is still fresh..

I just broke in my new itr pistons and I was pretty hard on them. Within three miles I had taken ip up to 5 grand under about 70% throttle. within 15 miles I had taken it up to 6 grand at %70 throttle about 5 times. Around 250-300 miles I took it up to 7000 at WOT a couple of times. At 450 miles or so it took it all the way to 8000 at WOT. I have been beeting the **** out of it ever since. I have since put 2000 miles on the motor and am not loosing any oil or smoking. The oil is also pretty clean.

Beat on those rings or you will be braking the motor in for 10000 miles.

Are you smoking under WOT or just off the start. Give us more info about when its smoking.
