hi
i was taking my first drive in my newly swapped civic EG6 (b18C6 engine/tranny)
and i ran into few problems. hope you can help !
1. the speedometer doesnt work, and therefore no VTEC!
my VSS is good ! worked on my b16 engine fine!
2. the CEL is shining bright, i tried to check for error codes from ECU, but the CEL wont blink.
3. after the short drive, i notice there was a water steam coming from the engine bay, and i opened it and there was water drops and steam on the radiator/gearbox, (im using b16a2 radiator, is it too small for b18c6 ?)
please help me, i want to feel the vtec of ITR power !

the steam - most likely a leak in the upper hose or somewhere near there. OR you had water on the engine before the drive. Keep an eye on the coolant level.
the CEL - which which ECU are you using?
no speedo - which engine harness are you using?

engine harness-> b16a2
almost sounds like your ecu is fried. most of the time when the cel is solid it means theres something messed up in the ecu.
as for the radiator a b16 rad will work just fine for you.

i dont think that the ECU is fried, especially because the CEL blinked when i disconnected the IAT sensor.. and gave me CODE-10, wich is IAT sensor.

solid CEL on a car that blinks for a known code - do you have the service jumper in place at all times?
b16a2 engine harness does not have the tach line from the distributor to the shock tower plugs, in that car the tach is driven by the ECU. Run a new wire from the blue wire at the distributor to the blue wire at the driver's shock tower.
