how are there a ton of "tech" posts on here......its just people bickering about the use of an FPR, IMO an FPR is the most useless "mod" you can do

Get the car tuned and then get back to us.

I am having a similar problem, but I idel perfectly. My car feels like it hits brick wall once vtec kicks in, but feels decent at partial throttle.

I am gonna try and get my **** tuned real soon. i will be trying to get it tuned with vafc, fpr and 370cc injectors. I wish I could afford a real fuel management right now, but the motor build itself broke the bank. See my setup in my sig.

did you not read what i said. we fixed the timing and now im fast as hell. i suggest you check out your timing. idle is now smooth, low/mid range is better than stock and VTEC screams like a child for candy. im still gonna get it tuned after i get some cam gears, but for now im satisfied.

Glad to see you got it figured out, now with some tuning and those cam gears you should be really "satisfied!"

How was your timing off and by how far?

i really cant believe you are running stage 1's without upgrading your springs. running those cams on stock valvesprings sounds like a bad recipe for valve float...

How different are stage 1s compared to CTR cams? I had my CTR cams installed without changing the valve springs. I read that according to Spoon's race engineers, the valve springs need not be swapped out for the Type-R dual springs if (and only if) the rev-limiter is not raised above that of stock. I have no plans of upping my limiter, it's been almost two months already and the car runs great (had it dyno-tuned btw). But just how true is this?

stage ones are more aggressive than type-r's. i was told that they make about 10 more whp. running stock springs with type-r's does not necessarily mean its going to float a valve or do damage, but its more dangerous. there is more of a possibility of damage, especially when the motor is revved too high for the stock valve springs to shut the valves fast enough for the piston to clear.

its just risky in my opinion but id rather play it safe than sorry.

imo, you are ok because you arent taking your motor past the stock rev limiter...good ****.

if i still had plans to rev to 9K, then i would throw the springs and retainers in there. but since im keeping the stock rev limit, im sure i'll be fine.

I was playing around with my fuel pressure today I bumped it up to 58psi. (only thing is I still currently have the stock injectors until I get my **** tuned I will use my 370's)

Well i noticed a huge difference. It felt totaly different, but still not what I expect and hopefully the dyno tuning will make it to my expectations. Well also on my test run my f'in TPS sensor broke. My VAFC is showing 100% all the time and now I can't keep my car idling with out putting tension on the throttle cable. Luckily I have an extra b16 tb laying around.

I'm having the same problems. Installed itr cams and now my low end sucks. Vtec pulls but not as hard as stock b16. My idle stays at 600-800 but when i put in neutral it drops to 100 then bounces up to 1200 rpms then normally drops to stock range. I checked timing but its good. I think the ignition timing might be off but dont really know how to fix that. I pulled the hose that goes from intake minifold to fpr off and the motor sounds alot better. when i plugg it back in the minifold the motor shakes agian and struggles. lmk what you guys think. thanks.

there are 2 10mm bolts on your distributor. loosen them and tap it towards your firewall.
