Default modifying oil pump

Hi, I got an H23 vtec and I want to go with a dry sump system.

the engine is totally in pieces, I don't have any bolts holding anything!

even the oil pump is for now in pieces.

ok the question is, would it be a good idea to remove a part from that pump since it's not going to be needed.

i'm talking about keeping the inside gear (because it looks like its a support for the crankshaft??) and remove the outside one

would that be a good idea or can I remove the both of them or neither of them and keep that oil pump?? (remember the engine is in pieces so no mechanical mods would be hard to do)

You can pull out those gears with no problem. In fact, if you were to leave them in, they would probably burn up as they would be spinning without oil.
BTW, you should also remove your balance shafts and plug the appropriate passages.

alreasy done, I even removed the water pump impeller (just keeping the water pump gear) and going with electric water pump, with those thing removed from the crankshaft, should help a lot in the engine acceleration

well not if the oil pump is replaced by an external one, but still...
