i had a alot of head work done and installed all new valvetrain. I installed the skunk2 stage 2 cams and now it runs slower. When vtec normally hits at 5500 rpm the car just doesn't go anywhere. It makes a LOUD vtec sound but it doesn't go anywhere until 6700 rpm and pulls hard until rev limiter. So i bought a vtec contoller to adjust fuel but i still have the same problem. i cant figure it out why it just boggs and 5500 rpms. please help.

 

double check both your cam timing and your distributor timing, sounds like it's to retarded maybe.

 

if you didnt know, Sk2 Stage2 cams need to have vtec kick on around 6000rpm or higher. You should really go visit a dyno and get your car tuned with those cams.

 

i dont know why they have to have vtec around 6000. maybe its b/c of the high lift and longer duration but i can just all fuel to that.

 

...you're seeing the light now!

 

Go and visit a competent tuner...you'll be amazed at how the car runs afterwards.
