Default :::Problem with ITR throttle body::: need help asap.

first off i have a 99; Si equipped with a B16A2:: ok, so i buy a used itr 62mm throttle body today, and install it within like 1/2 hr, it was pretty easy actually, and i also re-used the top MAP sensor. my question is, how come im throwing codes, i mean i did reset the ECU, but then after i hit the gas real hard n then i let off n drive for about 5 mins i throw a random code, (meaning the check egnien light lit up) also, randomly when i hit the gas its like the engine is sucking air in, but the whole car doesnt go anywhere faster, it stays at coasting speed, then all the sudden it goes.

EDIT, I AM RUNNING STOCK B16A2 MANIFOLD!

i know this is the throttle body doing this, its not anything else because none of this happened before i installed it. also, its revving weird, like 1000-1500 back and forth. any help would be great. thanks.

naw the plugs are pretty distinctive, i mean there both very different. i dont think you could even get away with mixing them.

It's very possible that you damaged the throttle position sensor during the changeover, a Honda TPS is entirely too easy to damage.

Based on my experience with the TPS, it's possible to damage it just by looking at it funny. You should be able to get one through a local auto parts store or a Honda dealership.

LMAO. so true. an ITR TB is only 62mm...I thought they were larger. hmm. Mine's 56mm...is 6mm really that much of a diff. on a TB? Don't they make TB's up to like 92mm?

if you added a TPS sensor to the ITR tb, if you noticed, the TPS sensor is adjustable. It's real touchy too, as in, if you angle it too much one way or the other it WILL throw a check engine light and your throttle response will act glitchy. If you didn't clean your TPS sensor, take a look at your TPS sensor with a light or in the daytime, there might be an outline of where the screws were set originally set it in by dust collecting on it over time. This can help you adjust the TPS to its most-stock setting/location and eliminate the throttle problems you're having.

Pictures of what I'm talkng about would be nice......hmm perhaps I'll take some soon.

Anyways, what you really need to do is, find out what check code the check engine light is throwing. Although it sounds like it would be code 7 (TPS). Find out what code your car is throwing...

4 MM is a HUGE diifference, i notice more of a difference here then i did when i installed my intake, headers, and exhaust combined.

i think i fixed it for good this time...i unplugged the TPS sensor and blew into it, then wiggled it back on and made sure it was secure, then started my car and it was idlieng at around 650(PERFECT!) THEN I RESET MY ECU, AND CEL went off.

drove around for about n hour, and guess what guys, no CEL.

thanks for the help.
