Default Problem with ctr lsd

After installing my ctr lsd and jdm itr fd my 2000 civic si it hasn't been driving right. When I accelerate(mainly when its full throttle) I can feel my tires vibrating. It kinda feels like the lsd chatters. I also installed a camber kit and I need an alignment but thats not the problem because when I'm on the freeway it drives smooth. I hope I did the installation right because no one could give me a straight answer on what I needed. Everything fit right and felt right until I drove it. Do I need a addative for the lsd to get ride of the chatter or do I have to break it in some way? Any info would help. Thanks.

It could very well be your camber/alignment changes. Under load, the alignment can change a little bit (forces from the drive wheels). Get the alignment first or DIY and then try the test again.

I got an alignment today and it still vibrats when I accelerate so I'm thinking it has to be the lsd. I think the problem is with the shims. When my dad and I put the tranny back together we forgot to check the clearances. He thought that they were fine because the lsd spun freely when it was sitting in the case. Maybe the lsd is moving because there is to much room. I forgot to mention that I had to replace the passanger side axle with a gsr axle. The part numbers were the same for the si and the gsr so it should be fine. Has anyone had problems with a gsr axle in a si. I going to check the clearance when I have time but before I do I want to know if anyone has had the same problem.

I doubt its the shims on a Si trans . You should use a LSD type oil from acura but still that wont make it shutter . The symptom you descirbe is more likely a bad axle , I have had several go bad and do just that vibrate under excelleration . If this unit was used it could be worn out and need of reshimming but I would check my axles first . Oh and I beleive clearance is .1mm on bearings .

I found this, just passing it along, not an endorsement.

I'm still going to check my shims anyways but I'm pretty sure its my axle now. When I turn to the right its really bad and when I turn to the left it doesn't do it. The axle was a rebuilt for a gsr, si and gsr axles have the same part number and they couldn't get si axles so thats why I got the gsr. Do you know if a gsr axle won't work? Is there any axles that you could recommend that can hold more hp than stock?

What do you think my problem is then? My car vibrates really bad when I'm accelarating in a right turn. It feels like something is lopsided and causes my car to vibrate. My dad seems to think its my lsd, he thinks the gears that control the right side are bad. We are going to pull the tranny out in two weeks but I would rather not if its not the lsd. Someone help me.

i know this might sound stupid, but are your lug nuts torqued down (80-90 ft/lbs)? i've seen some cats forget to tighten those things and the front end feels like it is going to fall off......just a suggestion

Yeah I tighten them down, after I put my rims back on I always recheck them after a couple of days of driven. Bearings is the next thing I'm going to check.

check for play with the rotor = bad bearing and/or loose axle nut!

I know I should of checked them but I did the tranny with my dad who has over 20 years experience as a mechanic and he said they shoud be fine. Tomorrow I'm going to check the axle and the shims, the axle doesn't feel like it has enough freeplay. Everything was torqued down to specs so its nothing like a lose axle nut. I'm still blameing it on the gsr axle or the shims.
