Default Problem with 1st gen B16a in a 96 LS

I recently installed a first gen b16a into my 96 integra. I swapped out all the neccesary sensors, I have a 97 Type r manifold and a 96 gsr distributor. I have cam gears installed on the car also. So I tried to start the car, and it just sputters then dies. So i pumped the throttle and can keep it revving at around 500-1000 for a few seconds then it dies again. I thought maybe my timing was off so i verified my timing marks and they were ok. So just to be safe I tried advancing and retarding the cam gears, up to 8 degrees both directions.. but still no change. I have pulled the spark plugs and they always come out pitch black. I have verified my spark and its ok. Anyone have any ideas? Oh and I also verified my compression and its ok.
