Probelm with Engine.. really need inputs
what color is the smoke? if its a shop that did the work they should have had the head pressure checked and shaved down . if not then u gonna have to do it all again prob. block is hard to warp. head can warp from overheating. of improper torque and stuff.. head could even have a crack. or he did something wrong and didnt clean the surfaces good enough ... look towards the head getting pressure checked and decked
if he removed the head improperly that could cause it to warp. you have to remove each head bolt in a certain sequence and remove each one 1/4 turn at a time. this may be a long shot but are you sure h replaced the head gasket. same thing happened to a friend of mine and the mechanic tried using the old head gasket. make sure your coolant lines are routed correctly as well. make sure you dont have lines routed straight into the intake.

Are you sure about that 1/4 turn a time? I'm pretty sure that you just need to loosen them in sequence but not a quarter turn at a time?
