Default Pressure plate??

im in the process of swapping out my clutch/pp and have a quick question. should the pressure plate sit flush on the flywheel before torquing it down to spec? mines got like 3/16 of an inch between the pp and the flywheel. All 3 dowels are aligned right and everything. the bolts are about finger tight right now, i just dont want to torque them down if its gonna fawk my clutch disk up...any suggestions? maybe i got the wrong PP?

That's correct. When you you are torquing down the bolts and closing the gap that's when the diaphram is being loaded with pressure to hold the disc.

3/16 also happens to be the thickness of the disc.

Watch the fingers on the plate as well they will start to move inward, kinda cool.
