Default Power steering removal

Okay its a 94 accord ex. I was wanting to take the power steering off, but i heard doing so would burn the gears up in the rac and pinion set-up. Has anyoned done this with any sucess or has any useful knowledge on it would be apreciated. thanks for the help

I've seen a few post on this. But just take out the oil pump and connect the oil lines together with oil still in the rack n pinion and lines.
