Is this a possible spun bearing?
Well, I just put in this motor and it worked prefectly fine in the car that it was in before (friends GSR before it got totaled). When I put the motor into my car, it started up but would die after i drove it and came to an idle. THen it would take forever to turn back on. I would crank it for like 2-5 minutes and it would finally turn on.
I went ahead and CHANGED EVERYTHING i could think of (map sensor, wiring harness, replaced lighten ACT flywheel with a stock one, ect.). Then i remembered hearing a "tick tick tick" noise coming from the motor but the ticking would be in a constant cycle of ticking and then it wouold stop and tick again, ect ect. So i researched H-T to see if it was a spun bearing,
Now i just pulled my oil pan and was wiggling on all of the rod caps and they wiggled right and left (I dont think thats suppose to happen) HELP!!! is it a spun bearing?

the rods big ends suppost to move back and forth a little..from that picts its hard to tell..look in the oil pan and around the bottom end and see if theres any shaving...or u could just take off the rods cap...
if i take off the rod caps.....is there anything special i have to do except torque them down and how many lbs do i torque them?? I dont see any metallic in the oil so far, ill look at the bottom of the oil pan to chekc if there are any shavings
anyone else??
thanks for the replies

Edit Spelling: If you take the caps off apply some assmbly lube to the bearings and rod journals. Torque the caps to 33 lb/ft.
While you got it all apart, pull the cap off of that rod and take the bearings out. Inspect them. If it spun the main bearings, then you should be able to see a slight scour or discolored mark from where it had spun.
I don't believe a spun bearing would make it act like that , though.

why dont you just turn the engine by hand, if it turns, then should be ok.
if you cant, then take it apart.
And if you spun a bearing on that rod, then you really would not be able to wiggle it since it would be kinda sized up
