Default poor mans itr valve adjustment

hey i have poor mans type r (stock gsr block, stock jdm b16 head), and i had the valves adjusted by a friend, and it doesnt seem like we adjusted them right. One side was was 8mm, and one side was 6mm i cant remember which was which though. Now when i like get on it at low rpms (really challenge the honda torque ) it will sometimes bog for a quick second, jump back to normal, then bog again almost like a sputter/ backfire but without the noise. i feel a loss of power for the second it bogs down each time. SO my question is, what do i adjust the valves to for this type of setup? by the way i adjusted them by sticking the measurement tool in the top of the valve, not in between the lifter lobe thingy's or w.e they are called (sorry im not much for knowing names of all the engine internals).

you need to do it between the cams and lobes.

also check your o2 sensor.

cams and lobes? you do know that the lobes are on the cams.....

you use a feeler gauge with the proper size between the primary/secondary rocker arms and the cam lobes.

my H22 is .007" on the exhaust and .009" on the intake

figured it out tonight thanks guys. We actually adjusted the valves correctly, but whern we adjusted the valves i forgot we changed the plug wires from another motor onto mine, and they werent 100% on, so we fixed that. Now i just have to deal with fixing my spark knock problem
