pluging in a laptop to my car
is there a way i can download a program for my laptop and plug it into my car? like a usb connection and i can monitor my car. just how like the dealer plugs in there device and monitor all there sensors. can i do that with my laptop?
You can chip your ECU with an EPROM that has a datalogging routine, solder in a datalogging cable, and check out pgmfi.org for programs and more details.
Assuming your EPROM has a datalogging routine and the checksum removed, all you have to do is buy a $25-30 datalogging cable and remove J12 from your ECU. The program will be free.
