Please help me, I'm about to cry............
I just changed my head gasket because the other one blew. When I replaced it, I checked the head for warpage, and it was straight and I used a stock honda head gasket with the copper spray. I torqued the arp head studs to 70lbs and started the car, and it is still smoking.
Can I just retorque the headstuds or will I need to replace the headgasket?

just retorque them to the specs. if that doesn't work maybe your head wasn't straight
(possible worst case, your cracked your block due to lack of coolant when your blew your head gasket) Just retorque them, good luck

Are you sure your block wasn't cracked? I've seen a problem before where the cylinder wall was cracked but the owner thought it was a head gasket due to blowing white smoke. When he changed gaskets, the piston was near TDC so he didn't see the crack in the cyl wall. He buttoned the engine back up and when he started it, it was still blowing white smoke. Good luck.

Did you do a stage torque on them like 23-70 then back out and repeat 2 more times like is recomened it is possible that you have an inconsitant torque on the head and it could be leaking. Lets hope that that is all it is.

When I took the head off, I spun the crank to make sure none of my sleeves were cracked. I don't know what to do. If I knew any competent shops, I would take it to them, but I hear bad things about shop in chicago. I think I might get out.....
